Deer Jumps Through School Window, Gets Locked In Detention

Students and staff from North Arlington Middle School in New Jersey got a visit from a rather unexpected visitor on Friday. Just as classes were being dismissed, a pretty large male deer jumped through a school window, ultimately finding itself surrounded by desks, chairs and other school paraphernalia, according to New Jersey Online.

After jumping through the window, the deer eventually ended up in the dean's office, where school staff were quick to lock the young buck inside, pretty much giving the unexpected school visitor a detention slip.

After all, jumping through a window always warrants a detention.

While in the dean's office, the buck, estimated to have weighed about 150 pounds, ran around, ramming into walls and scattering papers inside the office, reports The Examiner.

Of course, as the unusual scene was unfolding a number of students and school staff photographed and took videos of the deer inside the dean's office. Even parents who were there to pick up their children stuck around to see the spectacle.

The deer's detention finally ended when authorities arrived. After being sedated, the middle school's unexpected attendee on Friday afternoon was wrapped in a blanket and returned promptly to the woods, reports The Spread.

No one was injured during the entire incident, and the students, the school staff and the deer went home that day just a bit wiser.
