The boys of One Direction are loved all across the globe, and now in the spirit of the holiday season, Niall, Zayn, Harry, Louis and Liam are giving back to some very special fans.
The Courier reports that the band paid for a Christmas toyboy worth thousands of pounds to be sent to children at the oncology ward at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, Scotland for the second year in a row, and earlier this year, sent the children VIP tickets to their concert so they could see them live and meet them after the show.
Zayn Malik's mother, Tricia, was first contacted by Charlie Kean, who runs the Children's Fund charity, and has become a big help and supporter of the oncology ward children.
"We were sent 36 VIP tickets so that kids from the ward could get to meet the band this year," Kean told the Courier. "And Zayn's mum sends us stuff all the time and will text to ask about children she's met. The lads are all out of this world. They are really normal, down-to-Earth and some of the nicest boys in the world."
As for how the children reacted to their gifts, Kean added that they're "over the moon," as One Direction is the biggest boyband in the world and are idols to thousands of kids. As part of his Bring a Smile for Christmas campaign, Kean has managed to collect over 3,000 gifts and hopes to gather 25,000 by next year's holiday season.
