Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall have tied the knot! It's been just a little over a month since the media mogul announced that he and the former supermodel were engaged, and now they're officially married.
Murdoch, 84, and Hall, 59, first got together last summer and only went public with their relationship in October. They went down to Spencer House in London on Friday and were married during a private civil ceremony.
Even though the couple could not be happier with this decision, they still plan to have a main wedding service to celebrate with 200 of their loved ones. The actual wedding will take place on Saturday at the historic Fleet Street's St. Brides Church. Murdoch wore a navy suit for the occasion while Hall stunned in a white trench coat and flats.
"No more tweets for ten days or ever!" Murdoch tweeted Friday morning following the ceremony. "Feel like the luckiest AND happiest man in world."
The Saturday morning ceremony will include the couple's 10 children from previous relationships with the six girls serving as bridesmaids. Rev. Canon Dr. Alison Joyce will lead the nuptials and has revealed that the couple put together a special service "that means a great deal to them both."
"It will be a service of prayer and blessing at which they will give thanks for their marriage, and renew their vows before God," Canon Joyce told People. "The service will contain three well-known traditional hymns, as well as readings, and choir items. It will be very much a family even for both of them, as their sons and daughters will be fully involved, which is very nice."
Murdoch chose the location because it holds a special place in his heart. "[He] has significant personal links with St. Bride's-there is a memorial plaque to his late father [Sir Keith Murdoch] here-and he has attended services here, from time to time, for many years," Canon Joyce added. "So in many ways St. Bride's is a natural choice for the service for him."
This is the fourth marriage for Murdoch, who divorced his third wife Wendi Deng in 2013 after 14 years of marriage. Hall was also involved in a long term relationship, as she and Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger dated for more than 20 years. They had four children together, and even though they never legally married, their relationship was annulled in 1999.
