AC/DC Postpone Tour As Brian Johnson's Risks 'Total Hearing Loss'

Could this be the end of the line for AC/DC and Brian Johnson?

The Australian rock band postponed its U.S. tour dates after the band's 68-year-old frontman was ordered by the doctor to stop touring immediately or face the risk of going completely deaf!

"AC/DC are forced to reschedule the 10 upcoming dates on the U.S. leg of their 'Rock or Bust' World Tour. AC/DC's lead singer, Brian Johnson, has been advised by doctors to stop touring immediately or risk total hearing loss," the band said in a statement on its website.

"Tomorrow's show in Atlanta through Madison Square Garden in New York, NY in early April will be made up later in the year, likely with a guest vocalist," the statement continued.

Johnson joined the band in 1980 as a replacement for Bon Scott after he died from acute alcohol poisoning. The singer became a fan-favorite with his very first album with the band, "Back in Black," which went on to become the second best-selling album of all time.

People were quick to attribute Johnson's hearing loss to the hard-rock music AC/DC plays but the singer said otherwise on "The Howard Stern Show" last year. "I've got hearing loss in my left ear," Johnson told Stern. "I didn't get it from music. I got it from sitting in a racecar for too long without ear plugs."

"I heard my eardrum burst because I forgot to put my plugs in under my helmet. That's how it happened," he added. "Music had nothing to do with it ... I was dizzy, my middle ear had gone, and I took my helmet off and there was blood coming out and I'd burst my eardrum."

Last year, the band's drummer Phil Rudd was sentenced to eight months home detention charges after being convicted of drug possession and threatening to kill charges. In 2014, the band announced that its founding member, Malcolm Young, would be leaving the group as he was suffering from dementia.
