There's been another casting update for the movie "Fifty Shades of Grey." Shortly after British singer Rita Ora was cast as Mia Grey, Christian's sister, Universal Pictures and Focus Features announced that Marcia Gay Harden will play Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey.
Dr. Grace is the adoptive mother of Christian (Jamie Dornan), Elliot Grey (Luke Grimes) and Mia Grey (Rita Ora). Also cast in the movie is Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, Eloise Mumford as Kate Kavanagh, Victor Rasuk as Jose Rodriguez, Max Martini as Christian's bodyguard Taylor and Jennifer Ehle as Anastasia mother Carla.
The film has already started shooting in Vancouver, Canada. Author E.L. James announced the news on Twitter including a photo of a movie slate with the caption "Action!" Pictures from the set were leaked online following her announcement that showed Dornan and Johnson as the main characters filming the "coffee date scene" where the kinky, troubled billionaire first expresses interest in her.
As the two enjoy their drinks, Christian questions Ana about her personal life and family. There are still more characters the film has yet to cast like Ana's dad, Christian's dad and Elena Lincoln aka Mrs. Robinson. Fans are particularly interested in which actress is going to be cast as Mrs. Robinson because she is the one who first introduced Christian to the world of BDSM. Christian learned all his kinky sex moves from Elena when he was only 15-yearsold.
There has been several rumors about different actress in the running for the role with the most recent being Katie Holmes. Sources told the National Enquirer that Holmes thinks the role would be perfect for her career and wanted to try and convince James to give her a chance.
"She's looking at this as the role of a lifetime for her," the source said. "It will shock a lot of people, but she thinks Hollywood will sit up and take notice. She knows she has to reinvent herself."
Other names mentioned for the role include Kim Cattrall, Charlize Theron and Rose McGowan.
