Kate Middleton ushered in spring with a chic look during a visit to a youth charity in London today. The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning in a Jackie Kennedy-esque, ultra-feminine look as she joined her husband Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, as they met with the children who have benefited from the XLP mentoring program.
The duke and duchess stepped out for their second full day of official engagements this week, after stopping by the St. Thomas Hospital in London yesterday. The royal couple met with young people who have benefited from the organization's suicide prevention program, as part of their mental health campaign.
For her appearance at the XLP project's London headquarters, Middleton channeled her inner Jackie Kennedy with a matching two-piece ensemble from the spring/summer 2016 line by Kensington-based Eponine London. The brand specializes in made-to-order outfits inspired by the 1950s and 1960s by designer Jet Shenkman.
Middleton chose a red-and-white gingham printed tweed top that featured two button details at the waist and three-and-a-quarter length sleeves and paired it with a matching knee-length skirt. She styled her medium-length chestnut brown hair in voluminous, big soft waves. She sported rosy, flushed cheeks and a soft, daytime-appropriate smoky eye and a peach lip. She finished off her chic vintage look with a sleek black clutch and a matching pair of black pointed-toe pumps.
Once they arrived, the royal couple met with XLP founder Patrick Regan, the project's volunteers and the teens that have benefited from the charity, which is dedicated to "creating positive futures for young people growing up on deprived inner city estates, struggling daily with issues such as family breakdown, poverty, unemployment and educational failure, and living in areas that experience high levels of anti-social behavior, criminality and gang activity" through mentorship.
The Duchess of Cambridge was photographed multiple times in her Eponine ensemble during the event, which gave the brand a boost in popularity. Just hours after Middleton modeled this spring look, designer Shenkman said that she got many requests for her designs.
"Oh my goodness, it's unbelievably nice," Shenkman told the Telegraph. "I have never experienced anything like this!"
