A news report in a leading Mumbai-based daily suggests that Bollywood item girl and model Malaika Arora Khan have decided to file for divorce from actor Arbaaz Khan.
Malaika, whose personal life was in speculation for the past few months, has reportedly made up her mind and is not willing to listen to her family and friends. Arbaaz's younger brother and superstar Salman Khan also failed to change Malaika's mind.
The actress has already moved out of their Bandra house and is living in a rented apartment in Mumbai's Khar area with their 14-year-old son Arhaan. She also avoided recent family functions. The speculation around their split started when the couple filmed only a few episodes of reality TV show "Power Couple," which they had signed up for as hosts.
Family members of Malaika and Arbaaz, however, continued to maintain silence over the divorce reports. "I am a writer. Don't ask me about anyone's love affair or break-up reports. I never interfere in the life of my kids. I don't want to talk about it," Arbaaz's father Salim Khan said on Saturday. "They are two grown up adults. It is their business. I don't want to get into it," the 42-year-old actress' mother Joyce Polycarp said.
Arbaaz has been trying to patch up with Malaika but his attempts proved useless. The actor also refuted the separation rumors and lashed out at media spreading false news. "Some people need to mind their business, stop talking and writing bullsh-t and concentrate on their own miserable lives," he wrote on his Instagram account last month.
Arbaaz recently admitted that he is possessive about his wife and is afraid of losing her. "It happens. When you achieve something or someone, you don't want to lose the person. I love Malaika but I'm possessive about her. It wasn't like this when she was younger or I was more new into the relationship, but it has happened now. She is very precious and dear to me. I love her more than anything else in the world. I'm afraid of losing her now," the "Hello Brother" actor said during a TV show appearance with Malaika last month.
