Ne-Yo and his wife Crystal Renay welcomed their newborn son earlier this week, and the happy couple has shared their first adorable photo.
Renay had already posted photos of their baby boy's feet and hands, but on Thursday, she took to Instagram to truly introduce Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr. to the world. The picture shows Shaffer wide awake and resting on his mom's chest while still in the hospital.
"Allow me to introduce you all Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr!" she captioned the photo. "I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THIS LIL MAN! Now I know what it means to have your heart walk around outside of your body. THANKYOU @neyo for the greatest gift in the world! Love you to the moon and back daddy! #HeIsPERFECT."
The 36-year-old singer, whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith, also took to Instagram to share a black and white photo of him holding his son, although you cannot see the baby's face in the photo. "Welcome to the world lil' man. (HA! Mason's a big brother now)," he wrote. "You got a BIG family lookin' out for you, immediate AND extended. And we all love you to death. Gonna do EVERYTHING in my power to make sure ALL my children never need for anything EVER. @iamcrystalrenay I love you lovely. Thank you for this amazing gift."
Ne-Yo already has two children, Madilyn Grace, 5, and Mason Evan, 4, with his ex- Monyetta Shaw. He and Renay got married last month after being engaged for almost a year and welcomed Shaffer Jr. on Tuesday. When he was born, Renay shared a photo of herself holding his tiny hand while describing the "scary" delivery process.
"Prince Shaffer Chimere Smith Jr has arrived! 6lbs 8oz, 19 inches," she wrote. "It was the scariest delivery ever and I ended up getting a emergency C-section cause of complications but with the help of my amazing doctor @drsherryr and my super calming husband @neyo I was able to get through it all and come out with best reward in the world...SJ!!!! #BestDayOfMyLife."
