Rob Kardashian spent the past year far away from the spotlight only to resurface again with a new girlfriend, Blac Chyna. When news broke that the two were dating, it caused some drama in the family as his famous sisters had beef with her in the past, but it seems as though his mom, Kris Jenner, is just happy he's making positive improvements in his life.
Ever since Chyna came into Kardashian's life, she has been helping him workout and eat healthier so he can lose weight, which is something he has struggled with for a while now. After a serious health scare in December because of his unhealthy lifestyle, the 27-year-old model came into his life at just the right time. Now that they've been dating for a few months now, he's slimmed down and has even been hanging out with his family more than he used to.
"The whole family sees that it's her who brought Rob back," a family insider said. "Kris is so grateful to Blac Chyna for rehabilitating her son."
Kardashian has dated celebrities in the past, including Rita Ora and Adrienne Bailon, but it had been a while since he had a girlfriend. "[Rob] went forever without any girl being interested in him," said a friend. "His confidence was shattered for so long, so to have this banging girl all over him has given him a new lease on life."
The family was skeptical of Chyna at first since Kardashian's little sister, Kylie Jenner, is currently dating her ex-fiancé and baby daddy Tyga. Even though Kris is happy Chyna has helped her son live a better life as of recently, that doesn't necessarily mean that they've been spending too much time with her.
"I haven't really seen her that much and I don't know her as well as everyone else but she seems like a really nice girl and I just haven't been around her too much," the 60-year-old momager said on Tuesday. "But you know, he's been very, very happy lately and I think he's in a really good place. I don't know much about their relationship."
She did make sure to acknowledge how well he's been doing since he found this new love interest, though. "He feels so much better about himself. He is doing really, really well," she added. "He is trying to be healthy and get in shape and he is also working on a couple of projects."
