'Terminator' Reboot Cast: Jason Clarke In Talks To Play John Connor, Leader of The Rebellion

Looks like Jason Clarke of "Zero Dark Thirty" may have landed himself the coveted role of John Connor in the upcoming Terminator film.

Deadline reports Clarke is in talks of signing on to "The Terminator" reboot as the "leader of the rebellion against the Skynet artificial intelligence system bent on wiping out the human race."

The movie website also reports Game Of Thrones star Emilia Clarke is leading the race for the role of Sarah Connor. Arnold Schwarzenegger is reportedly expected to reprise his role in the franchise.

"Paramount has signed on to distribute, and has set a July 1, 2015 release date. Annapurna purchased the rights for over $20 million and the expectation is that they will be able to make at least two films before certain copyrights revert back to the property's creator, James Cameron. Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier wrote the script," Deadline reports.

Another movie slated for a July 2015 release date is making headlines for their major casting news as well. "Batman vs. Superman" director Zack Snyder recently confirmed to Deadline "Fast & Furious" actress Gal Gadot has landed the role of Wonder Woman in the "Man of Steel" sequel.

"Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character," Snyder said.

Amy Adams, who plays Lois Lane in "Man of Steel", is excited to have Wonder Woman on board. However, the actress made it clear she doesn't want the film to turn into a cheesy love triangle.

"Am I interested? I don't know," Adams told ComingSoon.net. "I mean, we'll see. I hope that I can be involved with a woman on screen where we're not in a love triangle. That would be fun. Maybe where we team up together and we work as teammates instead of adversaries...Wouldn't it be nice if women weren't always just, like, cat-fighting and stuff?"
