Seth Meyers Reveals His Son's Name And The Crazy Story Of His Birth [VIDEO]

Seth Meyers got a little emotional Tuesday night in his first time back on "The Late Night with Seth Meyers" since his wife Alexi Ashe Meyers gave birth to their first child together over the weekend. On last night's episode, the new father revealed that his son's name is Ashe Olson Meyers and that the infant was in such a rush to be born, he almost popped out in the backseat of an Uber.

Meyers' son arrived about two weeks earlier than expected. The host and his wife were enjoying a nice brunch on Sunday when Alexi started to feel a little but uncomfortable. She was complaining about back pains multiple times, about every 10 to 12 minutes, before the couple figured out what was really happening. Because it is 2016, Meyers then started tracking his wife's contractions using an app. Her contractions were speeding up at an alarming pace, and the couple thought that she had more time before her water broke all over their floor.

"Wow," Meyers said in disbelief. "That sounds like what water would sound like if it broke. It is incredibly well named for what it is."

After Alexi's water broke, the couple was then assisted by a very helpful doorman and an Uber driver named Tariq, who Meyers gave a special shout out to. The former star of "Saturday Night Live" then hilariously detailed description of their trip from the apartment to the hospital.

"I will say, to Tariq, he did an incredible job, he kept this cool so well. And it was hard to keep your cool because one, we wanted to get there in a hurry, and two, my wife was on her knees in the backseat, holding on to me, and screaming out an open window," Meyers said.

"Only in New York City could you drive that way and not have people say, 'That woman's being abducted.' She would be screaming while we were stopped at stoplights, and people would just cross the street," he continued. "My wife was screaming out the window, 'I don't like this!' And I just feel like New Yorkers were walking by like, 'It's New York, nobody likes anything!'"

Fortunately, the couple arrived at the hospital just in time to welcome their son.
