Golden State Warriors Prank Festus Ezeli For April Fools Day, Tell Him He Was Cut [VIDEO]

The Golden State Warriors defeated the Utah Jazz in overtime on Wednesday night for their sixth straight win. The Warriors are just five wins away from breaking the Bulls' record for the most wins in a single season with seven games left on the schedule.

This Warriors team is fascinating to watch because of its talent but also because all of the players really seem to like each other. Golden State is known for having a lot of fun on the court when it is blowing out its opponents, but the team sometimes like to take that fun off the court as well.

With April Fools Day approaching, Warriors' forward Andre Iguodala decided to team up with Lyft for its new "prank mode" to convince center Festus Ezeli that he has been cut from the team. Ezeli is currently out after having surgery on his knee and hasn't played since the end of January. Ezeli is expected to be back on the court soon, but Iguodala decided to prank him by saying he wouldn't play for the Warriors again.

The way Iguodala did it was fantastic, and he had a lot of help from his teammates including Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Ezeli was picked up by a Lyft driver, who was in on the prank, and he had on a fake sports talk radio show that announced the Warriors would cut Ezeli. That wasn't all, though, as several of Ezeli's Warriors teammates, and even assistant coach Luke Walton, texted him to say stuff like "sorry for the news" or "pleasure working with you".

Ezeli tried hard to hold in his emotions, but it was clearly affecting him. At one point Ezeli said, "looks like I might be getting a job with Lyft" before Iguodala revealed that it was just a prank.

The Warriors hope to have Ezeli back on the floor sometime next week, but their next game with or without him is on Friday night against the Boston Celtics. While you wait, check out the video. You won't regret spending the three minutes watching the hilarity that ensues.
