Idea Factory Delays 'MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies' U.S. Release To May 10

Bad news Hyperdimension Neptunia fans, Idea Factory International has revealed that the upcoming series spin-off "MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies" on the PlayStation Vita is seeing its U.S. release date pushed back to May 10. The news comes a month after the company slated the title for an April 26 release.

Fans in Europe have it even worse. The EU release has been reshuffled entirely, with its release "to be announced."

"MegaTagmension Blanc + Neptune VS Zombies" is a spin-off of the hit "Hyperdimension Neptunia" series and features Blanc, the normal form of Lowee's ruler, White Heart. The game will be a hack 'n' slash similar to what was seen in "Hyperdimension Neptunia U" but will reportedly feature more-refined gameplay. The game, just like all the others, takes place in the fictional world of Gameindustri, but instead of seeing the cast traverse around the world - and to different dimensions - the action will be centered at a new location called Gamicademi, a school for CPUs.

So what is the premise behind the series' latest entry? Blanc and the rest of the cast all attend the aforementioned school, Gamicademi, which despite being well-known around the world, has an abysmal attendance rate. Threatened with the prospect of the school shutting down, Blanc and co. decide to film a blockbuster zombie movie on its premise to garner more attention for the school.

Things go well at first, but they soon run afoul when real zombies begin to show up. Not to be deterred, Blanc and co. decide to turn the situation to their advantage, choosing to battle real zombies in a bid to create the greatest zombie film ever.

The gameplay promises not to disappoint, allowing players to customize character equipment and accessories, as well as offering both local and online multiplayer. Furthermore, the game will introduce a new character, Tamsoft, as well as mark the return of Plutia, Peashy and Uzume.

In the meantime, Idea Factory failed to reveal why the game was delayed, but it likely had to do with needing to polish the game up a bit.

In related news, Idea Factory recently announced the next title in the series, "Four Goddesses Online." That name has made an appearance in the series, notably as the game that Vert, the normal form of Leanbox's ruler, Green Heart, is hopelessly addicted to. With that in mind, its possible that "Four Goddesses Online" will finally be the game where she is the star, making her the last of the four main goddesses to have that honor. Information about the game is due out in the April 14 issue of Dengeki PlayStation.
