Sony Computer Entertainment confirmed on their official PlayStation Blog the “Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster” will be available for the PS Vita on the same day of its launch date.
FFX and FFX-2 HD will be released to the PS3 and PS Vita on March 18, 2014 for $39.99. The remaster will launch on March 21, 2014 in Europe. Square Enix will also be releasing a limited edition version of the HD remaster for $79.99.
"We have completely updated the Limited Edition Packaging with this gorgeous HD render of Tidus and Yuna, which I just absolutely fell in love with when I first saw this image. We also updated the concept artbook with Yoshitaka Amano's iconic image from Final Fantasy X and X-2," Sakura Minamida, Senior Product Manager for Square Enix, wrote in a previous PlayStation Blog.
The Collector's edition will contain a "full size, 40-page hardcover art book filled with the concept sketches, environment art, and characters that populate the world of Spira,"according to PlayStation's Blog. It also includes a section for Final Fantasy X-2 with a catalog of the three characters in all of their Dressphere costumes. The package will also contain a second disk of the original game soundtrack.
“Finally, we’ve got five lithographs of art I know I would be proud to hang on my wall,” Minamida wrote in the PlayStation Blog post. “You may recognize a few of these iconic scenes — Tidus and Yuna in the waters of Macalania Forest, Gunner Yuna’s striking pose — but the image of Tidus and Yuna embracing after all is said and done (I hope you know where you have to whistle) and the new CG render that appears as the Limited Edition box art are brand new visuals created specifically for the Remaster version.”
