Something seemed fishy this morning when Zac Efron deleted every picture of his girlfriend of almost two years, Sami Miró, on his Instagram page and unfollowed her on both Instagram and Twitter. Later in the day, it was confirmed that that the "Neighbors" star and his model girlfriend did indeed end their relationship.
The model and actor, both 28, were first seen out together in October 2014. The last time they were spotted in public together was when they went food shopping together at a Los Angeles supermarket April 11.
Efron has been busy recently shooting the upcoming "Baywatch" remake alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in Tybee Island, Ga., while Miró was seen attending the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, Calif., without Efron last weekend.
Last year, the model spoke out for the first time about her relationship with the "High School Musical" alum.
"I've never spoken about us before, but, um, it's definitely different," the model said of being in the public eye. "I think that you have to take that [kind of attention] with a grain of salt, and put yourself in other people's positions. I think that's actually a really big part of it, putting yourself in their shoes, and trying to understand where they're coming from, and then it kind of makes sense. It kind of just comes with the territory, and I know there's no really changing that, so you have to just embrace it.
"If I was dating someone who wasn't in the limelight, I might have more photos on [Instagram] of our relationship, but I do think it's important," she added. "I mean, it's what is going on in my life, and I think that my social media can still represent that."
During a January appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Efron also commented on his relationship with Miró, saying that one of the reasons their relationship worked so well was because they both loved to go on trips together.
"Things are great," he said at the time. "She's awesome.
"We get to do cool stuff," Efron continued. "We do a lot of adventurous stuff together. When I'm not working, we hit the road."
Before Efron started dating Miró, he was linked to actress Michelle Rodriguez and dated his "High School Musical" co-star Vanessa Hudgens for three years before they split up in 2010.
