Pamela Anderson may get the chance to slip on that familiar red one-piece bathing suit as the actress has officially joined the big screen adaptation of the TV series that made her a star, "Baywatch."
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who is starring in the film, made the exciting announcement on his Instagram on Thursday.
"She introduced the world to 'CJ Parker' and became one of the most iconic characters of a generation - for the most successful TV show of all time," Johnson captioned the picture of him and Anderson grinning. "A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our #Baywatch cast. We couldn't have made this movie without you. Welcome home. Thrilled you had a blast with us," Johnson captioned a picture of him and Anderson.
The 48-year-old played the role of C.J. Parker, who was one of the series' most known characters, on the TV show "Baywatch" from 1992 to 1997. However, she will not be the one playing the iconic role of Parker, for that honor went to Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Kelly Rohrbach.
It is not currently known exactly what Anderson's role in the film will be, but David Hasselhoff, who was also in the original TV show, was announced to have a small role in the film, meaning Anderson's place in the adaptation could be similar. In the movie, Johnson will take over the role of head lifeguard Mitch Buchannon from Hasselhoff.
Anderson previously opened up about the movie and said that she had been offered a role but was not totally in love the part that she was offered.
"I haven't turned it down completely yet, but I have turned down what they offered me," Anderson said.
"We'll see what happens." 'Baywatch' was such a huge part of my life. And really they're trying to do an homage," she added. "It's an honor to have them want me to be a part of it so bad."
The film also stars Alexandra Daddario, Zac Efron, Priyanka Chopra and Hannibal Buress.
"Baywatch" is set to be released on May 19, 2017.
