Is Caitlyn Jenner unhappy as a woman and thinking about detransitioning? That’s what one new report said. However, the star’s rep has debunked those claims.
Yesterday, TheWrap posted a new interview with celebrity biographer Ian Halperin - who just released the tell-all book “Kardashian Dynasty: The Controversial Rise of America’s Royal Family” - in which he said that several sources told him that Jenner has been miserable lately and may transition back to male down the line.
“One source confirmed to me Caitlyn has made whispers of ‘sex change regret,’ hinting she might go back to being Bruce Jenner,” Halperin revealed.
And just why might Jenner want to go back to being a man? Insiders told Halperin it’s because she is still interested in dating women and is yearning to meet the right one.
“It hasn’t been easy for Caitlyn, it’s been very hard,” Halperin added. “She’s thrilled she has raised awareness about how transgender people have long been discriminated against, but I think there’s a chance she’ll detransition in the next couple years. I don’t think it would surprise anybody in her inner circle. It has been much harder than she anticipated.”
“Not worth commenting on such an idiotic report,” Jenner’s rep responded today when asked if there was any validity to the story. “Of course it’s not true.”
Sixty-six-year-old Jenner was born a man named Bruce. The father of six was a popular Olympic decathlon gold medalist who was married to three different women. In an April 2015 interview with Diane Sawyer, he confirmed that he was transitioning into a woman. Caitlyn made her debut on the cover of the July 2015 issue of Vanity Fair, which was released last June. Her journey is being documented on the E! reality series “I Am Cait,” which recently wrapped up its second season.
Jenner herself has yet to make a statement about the detransitioning claims.
