WARNING: The following contains possible spoilers for Lucasfilm's "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."
Outside of a sparse few details, almost nothing is known about "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," the first non-saga entry into the "Star Wars" series. But today, we're getting some new information regarding the names of new main characters, the whereabouts of some well-known characters and who everyone is playing in this diverse cast.
The information comes to us from Making Star Wars via the upcoming "Rogue One: the Official Visual Story Guide" book which reveals all of the "highly skilled soldiers, fierce warriors, Rebel Alliance captains, enforcer droids, and freelance assassins" in the film. Check out the above link for a more in-depth dive into the available information.
"Rogue One" plans to introduce fans to a lot of all-new tech, ships and other far-, far-away galaxy gadgets, a welcomed treat to anyone who enjoys sci-fi. In addition, a handful of new characters will be making their "Star Wars" debut in "Rogue One," while other familiar faces will pop up as well. Here are the new character names and who will be playing them.
- Jryn Erso (Felicity Jones)
- Directir Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn)
- Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna)
- K-250 the Enforcer Droid (Alan Tudyk)
- Baze (Jiang Wen)
- Bodhi Rook (Riz Ahmed)
- Chirrut (Donnie Yen)
- Bistain (alien creature)
Interestingly, Mads Mikkelsen's character (Jyn's father) is not mentioned in the new report. This has led some to believe that he will only be present in the film through flashbacks. Otherwise, this report gives us our first dose of concrete information on Jyn's crew and potential cameos of long-lost characters. It also confirms that Tudyk will indeed be playing a motion-capture character.

"Rogue One: A Stars Story," directed by Gareth Edwards ("Godzilla"), will arrive in theaters on Dec. 16.
