According to a new survey by Chillisauce.co.uk, Christmas Eve was voted as the most romantic day to get down on one knee and propose to a girlfriend, the Daily Mail reports. 32 percent of men thought the day before Christmas was the best time to present their significant other with a sparkly engagement ring. Valentine's Day, New Year's Eve and Halloween were also among the most popular holidays for men.
When it comes down to how a man should pop the question, 51 percent of women surveyed said they want a simple proposal and a "will you marry me?" will do just fine. However, 15 percent of women thought using technology to help out would be better.
Among that 15 percent, a proposal via email was acceptable followed by text message and over the phone (Fun fact: Kelly Rowland said her boyfriend/manager Tim Witherspoon popped the question over Skype - and she accepted).
Another survey, conducted by Flirt.com, found that the Christmas holiday isn't so lovey dovey for every couple. Out of 2,000 people surveyed, three quarters said they thought it was perfectly acceptable to dump their significant other in the days leading up to Christmas.
As far as who should be the one to propose, Chilisauce.co.uk found that a large majority (65 percent) of men said they would reject a proposal from their girlfriends and would rather do the asking themselves.
