Universal Pictures has confirmed that Paul Walker's character, Brian O'Connor, will appear in the upcoming movie "Fast and Furious 7," The Wrap reports. There has been ton of speculation about if the character would appear in the film following Walker's tragic death three weeks ago.
In a statement released by the studio it also confirmed that the new release date for the film will be April 2015.
"Continuing the global exploits in the franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead the returning cast of Fast & Furious 7, which will be released by Universal Pictures on April 10, 2015," the statement read. "James Wan directs the chapter of the hugely successful series, and Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel return as producers."
Diesel first broke the news on Facebook sharing a photo of himself and Walker on the set of the movie.
"The last scene we filmed together... There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared... in the film we were now completing... the magic captured... and, in just how far we've come.. Fast and Furious 7 will be released... April 10th 2015!" he wrote. "P.S. He'd want you to know first..."
The film was originally set to hit theaters July 2014 but production was forced to halt after the actor's death left the cast, crew and production struggling with how to move forward. Walker and his "Fast" costars were in the middle of filming when the actor and a friend, Roger Rodas, lost their lives in a fiery car crash.
Even though half the movie had already been filmed there were still several key scenes Walker had to finish. According to The Hollywood Reporter, producers will use footage already filmed with Walker in it but no further details about the character's storyline has been revealed.
