The August 2016 Clash Of Clans update brings some changes on the balance of abused troops along with the introduction of a decent-sized Healer nerf.
Although it was known as a minor tweak, the changes made actually created several implications on the strategic aspect of the game. This is because the Healers are relatively weak and the execution of famous tactics like the mass-Bowler and Queenwalk was altered.
For example, in executing a Queenwalk, the previous version only requires the players to surround the Archer Queens with three or four Healers to protect the offense. But the current version involves the use of an additional Healer for protection. Thus, the tweak implemented will most likely require players to change their game strategies.
Aside from that, the update also includes three more fixes, but none of these has caused debates among gamers. To make the attacks on mid-sized troops more balanced, the update team has increased the cannon damage on levels 11 to 14.
The movement speed of Miners was also reduced, making them more effective in wiping enemy villages. Finally, the activation time of the Eagle Artillery was lengthened to provide attackers with more early-battle flexibility.
Although the August 2016 Clash Of Clans update is considered minor. Supercell's blog posts hinted that the team "is in full swing working on the next major update."
Gaming experts also noted that Supercell has become more careful in implementing new updates. Probably, this will avoid the same negative responses that the introduction of the Town Hall 11 on Clash of Clans has previously caused.
