The family drama aired the last episode of its fourth season on Oct. 26, 2015 with 0.83 million viewers.
Amid good reviews from IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes and fans, the ratings were not as high as expected. This may have contributed to Freeform's decision for the series' final curtain call.
"Switched at Birth" was created by executive producer Lizzy Weiss. The series is about two teenage girls who were switched at birth.
Episode 1 will be entitled "The Call" while Episode 2 "This Has to Do With Me." The first two episodes may be about the call that Bay (Vanessa Marano) and Daphne (Katie Leclerc) received while they are in China. The girls will return home for reasons still unknown.
Fans speculated that it has something to do with the impending divorce of Kathryn (Lea Thompson) and John (D.W. Moffett), or John's deteriorating health condition.
Followers are also excited for the conclusion of Bay's lovelife, who are torn between a new found love and Travis.
Avid followers of "Switch at Birth" are not expecting new storylines but for the characters to tie together their loose ends.
