'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8 Promo released; Brace up for bloodshed, mystery and a major death

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 promo has been released and from the looks of it, one can be sure that the final season of the series is going to be quite a class apart. The 20-second promo revolves around all the major elements that have made the show a hit among viewers.

There is bloodshed, mystery, brother issues, romance, and death to up the excitement in the eighth and final season of "The Vampire Diaries," claims Entertainment Weekly. It is quite in sync with the expectations of the fans and one can see the favorite characters such as Damon, Enzo, Stefan, Caroline as well as the new nanny in the town- Seline (played by Kristen Gutoskie).

The Season 8 promo shows Damon as a bloodthirsty vampire, very much under the influence of the evil creature from the vault, who is controlling him as well as Enzo. Damon is still on a killing ride and though Stefan is shown trying to save his brother, Damon seems to be having the upper hand. Stefan is also shown sharing a kiss with Caroline.

However, it must be mentioned here that Seline might not have a good end in the eighth season of "The Vampire Diaries," reports suggests. It looks like Damon will murder her because one quick shot of the promo shows a secretive arm catching Seline's throat to slash it with a knife. It looks very scary and it is not hard to assume that the new nanny in town might just be dead.

If it happens on "The Vampire Diaries," Season 8 would really become tragic for fans of Alaric as many are hoping that Seline would prove to be the new love interest in his life. Not only would she take care of his maverick twin daughters, she would also double up as his wife. So, this deadly promo does not portend well for Alaric's life.

As for the mystery of the vault, it seems the unknown villain is feasting on the dead bodies as the corpses that were hanging from the hooks have turned into skeletons and limbs.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 premieres on Oct. 21 on The CW at 8 p.m.
