'Batman Vs. Superman' Movie News: Lynda Carter Said WHAT About Gal Gadot Taking On 'Man Of Steel 2' Wonder Woman Role?

Lynda Carter shot to fame when she took on the role of the Amazonian Princess named Wonder Woman. With the "Batman vs. Superman" hype in full swing, Metro U.K. asked how she felt about Gal Gadot stepping into her DC shoes.

When asked if she felt weird about seeing Gadot take on the superhero role she helped make famous, Carter told Metro it wasn't an odd sight at all.

"I don't think so," Carter said. "It was a long time ago. I care more about the character continuing than holding on to my piece of it. I hope she has fun with it."

Carter also told Metro it may be better Gadot isn't starring in her own Wonder Woman film just yet. To Carter, the "Batman vs. Superman" platform may be a good way to reintroduce the character.

"She won't have to carry the whole film. It takes the pressure off," Carter explained. "I wish her well. I'm just glad she's going to be out there again. Maybe she'll get her own show again."

Carter portrayed the heroine from 1975-1979 television series, and told Metro she will always embrace the character.

"It's a long time ago but when people come up to talk to me about [Wonder Woman], it's a way of connecting with them," she said. "It's like going to see a concert and seeing someone play their greatest hits - if they didn't play their greatest hits, it would be the same as if I never talked about her. She's a great character.'

Carter even dished why Wonder Woman is an appealing superhero.

"There's an identification factor. She's not your average superhero. It's not so much about her super powers as it is about her ethic. I always thought of her as a figure who stands for what's right," Carter told Metro. "We all know what's wrong with the world today, so maybe we need her right now."
