There is no denying that "Train to Busan" is the most talked about movie nowadays. Viewers can't stop talking about it on social media.
Because of the success of the film, many are hoping for another sequel. And it seemed like the "Train to Busan" team has granted the viewers' wishes.
Gong Yoo, lead actor of the South Korean zombie apocalypse thriller film, has confirmed the sequel on Twitter, saying, "And there will be a sequel of Train To Busan. For you all. 사랑해!"
When the actor confirmed the sequel on his Twitter account, a lot of viewers have been wondering if his character, Seok Woo, is going to return on the upcoming sequel.
According to reports by Yibada, Gong Yoo talked to the director and said he wanted to be a part of the movie again, but the director quickly dismissed the idea because the actor's character has already died by breaking his neck.
"I talked about this with director Yeon Sang-Ho," Gong said. "I said that I thought my character Seok-Woo might be living somewhere as a zombie, but director Yeon said that when Seok-Woo fell off the train, he broke his neck and died."
But based on the conversation between the lead cast and the director of the film, a plot storyline for "Train to Busan 2" may have already been discussed. Speculations suggest that the plot can go in two ways. It can either be about rehabilitation of the area, or it can follow a narrative act from the zombie's perspective.
Fans will really love it if the latter plot happens because this would mean that Gong Yoo's character will be back for the sequel and maybe return as leader of the zombies.
But whether the lead character will be back for the sequel or not, viewers are still surely going to watch the sequel in the future. Unlike other zombie thriller film, this one has a dramatic storyline that is surely tear-jerking. It showed situations where characters have done sacrifices and life choices that were beyond heartbreaking for the viewers. This is probably why this movie is one of the most talked about.
