'Game of Thrones' Season 7 News & Spoilers: Forgotten characters to return in upcoming season; Actors spotted in Belfast

****Spoilers Ahead***

The filming for "Game of Thrones" Season 7 is already in full swing as the cast and crew reach Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Several "GoT" stars have been spotted in Belfast including some predictable ones such as Maisie Williams, Lena Headey and Nicolaj Coster-Waldau.

However, unexpected faces have also appeared, drawing speculations that some old characters will make their reentrance in seventh season.

First character that the fans will be happy to see is Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen), reported Winter is Coming. The publication noted that the actor was spotted on a plane with Brienne (Gwendoline Christie). His presence in Belfast was a sign that perhaps he has found a cure for his Greyscale.

While his return is certainly exciting as Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) is on her way to Westeros, another important character from the past has been spotted in Belfast that, if proven true, will give the show a certain kind of interesting twist.

Watchers on the Wall reported that Joe Dempsie, Gendry, was also spotted at the Belfast airport, trying to hide behind layers of clothes. Gendry last appeared in Season 3 when Ser Davos saved him from his imminent death by fire at the hands of Melissandre. He was seen rowing off to safety and wasn't heard from since then.

As Belfast has became a hotbed for "GoT" action, spotting Gendry at the location just as the filming is in progress set some tongues wagging. Fans already speculate that if Gendry is indeed returning in Season 7, perhaps he will also reunite with his old friend, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams). As far as the plot is concerned, since Gendry is also Roberth Baratheon's last surviving bastard, he has a legitimate claim to the throne. However, to stake that claim, the King (or Queen, in this case) will have to legitimize him first and Cersei Lannister will do no such thing.

Although his return seems plausible, his role in Season 7 has endless possibilities, knowing that showrunners, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss long strayed from the books.

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is set for summer release in 2017.
