'Star Wars Episode 8' Spoilers & Update: Kylo Ren not Han, Leia's son? Snoke, grandfather of Luke?

It seems that fans cannot sit still any longer while waiting for Star Wars Episode 8, they themselves have started formulating theories of what the next episode might be about.

There are two interesting theories for Star Wars Episode 8 that have been buzzing around online. These theories specifically talked about the Skywalker family tree, which apparently became more complicated now than ever before.

After Kylo Ren murdered his father Han Solo in Star Wars Episode 7, fans speculate that Ren might not be a son of Princess Leia and Han, but rather a distant relative. Although patricide is not a foreign spin in the series, devastated fans started discussing this possibility.

As per the report of Game N Guide, Star Wars Episode 7 did not implicitly mention that Kylo is the son of the two. There are speculations that the couple might just consider the villain as their son, but not, in its actuality, their biological son.

Moreover, a leaked page of the script for Star Wars Episode 8 was reportedly surfaced online. The said script features a scene wherein Luke Skywalker meets Snoke in person. In their conversation, Snoke brought up Darth Vader to which Luke responded by questioning the relationship of the two. Snoke's answer is mind-blowing, surprising not just Luke but also the fans.

Snoke answered, "What father does not know his own creation?" hinting that he is actually Darth Vader's father. Connecting the dots, if this detail is proven to be true in Star Wars Episode 8, Snoke is actually Luke's grandfather.

Although nothing is impossible, fans should take this news with a pinch of salt. In a report of Business Insider, however, actor Adam Driver who played Kylo Ren revealed that Star Wars Episode 8 will take a darker turn. Into which darkness, details are yet to be known.

Driver offered, "It's [Star Wars Episode 8] similar to how 'The Empire Strikes Back' has a different tone. For that people always go 'ooooh, it's dark' but I don't know how that it necessarily is. It's just different in tone in a way that I think is great and necessary but also very clear."

The actor added that director Rian Johnson will not dumb anything down in Star Wars Episode 8 as he trusts that the audiences are ready for some nuance and ambiguity.

In the same report, Johnson also revealed that the opening scene of Star Wars Episode 8 will be exactly where the previous installment took off, right where Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Daisy Ridley (Rey) met.

"I don't want to skip ahead [after] that last moment of Episode 7. I want to see what happens next," Johson added.

So, are you excited to see Star Wars 8? Do you think these theories are plausible? While waiting for Star Wars 8 to hit theaters on December 15, 2017, let's discuss other interesting theories in the comment section below and stay tuned for more updates!
