With NBA Training Camps fast approaching, another name emerges as a hot item for trade this offseason. Greg Monroe of the Milwaukee Bucks stands out as an attractive player for several teams nowadays, with the likes of the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Pelicans being among those rumored to be going after the power forward.
As many fans would know, Monroe started his career with the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons drafted him during the 2010 NBA Rookie Draft as their 7th overall pick during the 1st round. From there, he stamped his presence in the team and soon made a name for himself. Yet after five years with the Pistons, he decided to move to the Milwaukee Bucks and signed a three-year, $50 million contract.
However, after that move, he didn't make as much noise has he did back with the Pistons and quietly played for the Bucks. But today, rumors abound that the Warriors, Cavs, and Pelicans all look to have his services.
YIBADA English reported that those top teams must consider bringing in Monroe within their respective rosters, but the question remains as to which of them would best suit him.
The Warriors may actually have no practical deal for Monroe in place, though they need viable replacements for centers Festus Ezeli and Marreese Speights. The Pelicans can part ways with Tyreke Evans and Quincy Pondexter to procure his services. The Cavs may mull over a Kevin Love swap deal, though they're also looking for other trade options.
In a separate report by the Parent Herald, Monroe's lackluster performance has been cited as among the reasons behind the Bucks' poor showing last season. That's why they're placing Monroe on the trading block to pick up a more potent impact player to playalongside Giannis Antetokounmpo.
