The Warriors winning the NBA title in 2015 while the Cavaliers avenge the Warriors as they bagged the first ever NBA championship of their franchise this year.
They are the greatest rivals in NBA today. And many believe that they were destined to meet again in June of next year to battle for the Larry O'Brien NBA championship trophy once again.
With more than a month to go before the 71st NBA season kicks off, the Cavs and the Warriors are doing the best they could to polish their roster. And rumors around the NBA says that both teams are eyeing on free agent Josh Smith.
Although the Warriors is already an overwhelming favorite to with an NBA Championship this coming season, the team is still trying their very best to improve their roster. According to Chatt Sports Net, Josh Smith might be a good replacement for Harrison Barnes, who signed a four-year deal with the Dallas Mavericks.
With the lost of Warriors reliable bench players like Marreese Speights, Leandro Barbosa and Festus Ezeli, adding Smith will make the bench better offensively and defensively. Smith can shoot three-pointers, block shots and rebound.
On the other hand, the Cleveland Cavaliers are also interested in signing Josh Smith, as reported by Parent Herald. The Cavs have already trustworthy big men in Tristan Thompson and Kevin Love. But with the addition of Smith in the line-up, their inside presence might be more formidable. He is a very athletic big man who can block shots, rebound and run well. He call also shoot threes from time to time.
