'Poldark' Season 2 Spoiler: George Warleggan buys Ross Poldark's debt to revenge

The viewership performance and household ratings of "Poldark" Season 2 is dwindling, which sparked speculation that the show will likely be cancelled.

Amid the problematic ratings, BBC One released the official plot description of Episode 5 while last week's Episode 4 is provided here for fans who have missed to watch it.

According to The Week, BBC One's first drama series is being trampled in the household ratings and audience by ITV's "Victoria," a historical tale TV series.

Last week, the performance of "Victoria" increased by half a million viewers ahead of the Debbie Horsfield-created series. This after the period drama series featured Victoria (Jenna Coleman) and Prince Albert's (Tom Hughes) wedding.

As for the official plot synopsis of "Poldark" Season 2 Episode 5, Hall of Fame Magazine shared, "An informant in the smuggling ring poses a serious threat to all, and George Warleggan (Jack Farthing) buys Ross Poldark's (Aidan Turner) debt to finally crush him.

Meanwhile, Caroline Blakiston (Aunt Agatha) returns to Cornwall to make an announcement, but it is Elizabeth (Heida Reed) who reveals a great secret."

For a quick rundown of "Poldark" Season 2 Episode 4, Huffington Post UK reported, Ross successfully closed a deal with a local smuggler. This is because he is in need of money to open a mine free under George's influence.

Dwight Enys (Luke Norris), on the other hand, tried to diagnose an epidemic patient and received help from an unknown benefactor.

"Poldark" Season 2 Episode 5 is scheduled to air on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at 9:00 p.m. first and exclusive on BBC One.
