Trade rumors are still hounding Kevin Love nowadays. He's been in every trade deal that's being talked about by NBA fans. Many fans are saying that he gave a poor performance last season and he doesn't fit well within the system of Coach Tyronn Lue.
Earlier reports said that the Cavs will not trade Love to any team and this was also confirmed by Coach Lue this offseason. Coach Lue also said that Love takes the Cavs to where they want to be and is a big help on winning the title last season, both of which contradict what people are saying. But now, another rumor is spreading that Love is going back to his first home, the Minnesota Timberwolves.
According to Parent Herald, the Timberwolves are trying to get back Love and are looking to strike a deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. After Kevin Garnett announced his retirement just last week, the Timberwolves seemed too vulnerable on the position he vacated and are now desperately looking for his replacement.
The report also says that Kevin Love's acquisition will help the Timberwolves fill that void and consequently bring back their superstar again. It will also give coach Tom Thibodeau some breathing room to work with the team to have a steady lineup.
The trade deal will also help the Timberwolves fill up the absence of Nikola Pekovic for the whole season, as per the Christian Post. Pekovic suffered from ankle injuries and is expected not be on the roster for the whole season. A trade involving Love will thus be beneficial to the Timberwolves.
The report also said that aside from the Timberwolves, the Boston Celtics are also interested in Love but this is not as serious as the Timberwolves' bid. Aside from Love, the Celtics are also interested in Nerlens Noel but there is no confirmation yet. On the other hand, the Cavs are also interested in Kirk Hinrich as a replacement for Mo Williams. Williams already announced his retirement during the Cavs Media day and it is Hinrich who would likely replace him in his position.
These rumors continue to be speculations, but seeing Love, Ricky Rubio, Andrew Wiggins, Carl Anthony-Towns and rookie Kris Dunn play together could be really interesting to watch.
