Rob Kardashian reportedly "needs a clean break" from his famous family and has decided to step out of the spotlight. A source told InTouch magazine (via Radar Online) that he feels like his family has "abandoned him" when he needed them most.
The only Kardashian boy has been having a really difficult year. He wasn't in the family Christmas card (even though on the reality show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" it was hinted that he didn't want to be in it) and he reportedly didn't attend Kris Jenner's annual Christmas Eve bash.
The source said Kardashian is having a hard time adjusting to Kris and Bruce Jenner's split as well as his sister Khloe Kardashian's divorce because he and Lamar Odom were really close.
"He feels he needs a clean break," the source said. "The last year has been so painful."
"He feels like his family puts TV first and they're incapable of being real," the source continued. "He realizes his expectations in life don't line up with theirs."
The 26-year-old reality star has been the target of media criticism for his weight gain. According to the Daily Mail, Kardashian gained 60 pounds following his split from British singer Rita Ora and he has also been experiencing premature balding. He was also criticized for shamelessly plugging his new endorsement deal with a hair-growth company on Twitter, something Jenner urged him to do, the source claims.
"He feels like the family abandoned him when he needed them most," the source said. "For him, life is more than just a business deal. [Rob] feels like his family can't see anything beyond the spotlight. But he wants more for himself than fame."
There were rumors that Kardashian was so fed up with fame and the spotlight that he packed his bags and moved to Florida. The source claims he has been living in the Sunshine State for at least three months.
