According to Today, the 30-year-old American singer, songwriter and actress cleared the rumors with the statement, "little monsters" online, writing, "It's not an illusion. The rumors are true. This year the SUPER BOWL goes GAGA!"
The "American Horror Story" star was singlehandedly picked to headline The Super Bowl 51 Halftime show. NFL and Pepsi officially announced the news during a recent in-studio interview.
This is due to her pitch-perfect performance of "The Star Spangled Banner", the national anthem of the United States last year, Billboard has learned.
In line with this, Rolling Stone reported that Adele quickly turned down the formal offer of the sports event organizers. The 28-year-old English singer and songwriter was enlisted as the league's top choice to headline the grand event.
