Eminem out of Forbes' top 10 Rappers of 2016; New Eminem album “Roots” release date not true?

Here is some bad news for the fans of Eminem. This year, Eminem has failed to make his place amongst the Forbes' top-earning hip-hop acts of this decade due to a decreasing income graph and the absence of Eminem new album.

Reportedly, amongst the cash making hits in the hip hop industry, Eminem only managed the rank of ninth on the Forbes ranking list of top earners for the decade. Since the year 2007, his album, Slim Shady earned only US$151 million and the other album, Dr. Dre was a topper with accumulated earning of $923 million in 10 years.

Notably, the year from June 2015 to 2016 saw Eminem earning only $11 million, which in fact led to his oust from the list of the top 10 hip-hop acts of 2016. His pre-tax income is much below than the figure that he earned in 2015, which stood at $31 million.

According to the latest rankings, Eminem is standing on position number 18, as revealed by Forbes. The news outlet further states that during the considered time period, Eminem performed in only three shows. However, they were attended by thousands of his fans.

It is worth mentioning here that it was in the year 2011 that Eminem first made an entry into the Forbes' Celebrity 100 list and amongst the highest paid celebs he stood at the rank 71.

Another reason for concern is that there is no sign of Eminem new album. Though previous reports suggested that his new album, "Root" will be released soon, Marshall Mathers is yet to make an official announcement.

The 43-year old rapper last released the studio album, "Marshall Mathers LP 2" on Nov. 5, 2013. Post release, the album not only topped the Billboard 200 chart but also made a mark as within a short time span of five days, 792,000 copies were sold, International Business Times reported.

However, Eminem has been busy composing music for movies as well as for television. And, it is his Shady Wars and Shady Records that helped his net worth to just stay afloat.
