The Milwaukee Bucks are one of the teams that had a disappointing showing last season. After having a breakout 2014-2015 season, placing 6th in the Eastern Conference, they dropped down to 12th place for the 2015-2016 season.
They got an intact roster which includes Michael Carter-Williams, Khris Middleton, Miles Plumlee and upcoming superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, but still they fell short of making to the playoffs. Many believe that the reason why the Bucks had a frustrating season point to one man, Greg Monroe.
Monroe is the biggest acquisition by the Bucks last 2015 offseason and many fans expect that his addition will solidify the Bucks frontcourt. But many says that his poor performance, averaging only 15.3 ppg, 8.8 rpg, and 0.8 bpg, is the cause why the Bucks faltered.
And now, the Bucks placed Monroe on the trading block and the deal to trade him is already confirmed, according to News Every day. The Bucks are not backing out and are now looking for a viable trade deal to other teams for players that they need, most especially the power forward position, as stated by the report.
The report also says that Monroe was not a perfect fit to coach Jason Kidd's run-and -gun system the reason he can't perform well. However, Monroe revealed in a recent press conference that he knew he was placed on the trading block, but mentioned that he doesn't want to leave the team and wants to play for them.
Earlier reports say that the Bucks want a shooting guard if ever they decide to trade Monroe. In another report, the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New Orleans Pelicans are interested in acquiring him.
But it seems that the Charlotte Hornets is the next destination for Monroe, according to Mobile & Apps. Rumors are saying that Monroe will be sent to the Hornets in exchange for guard Jeremy Lamb and forward Spencer Hawes.
The report also said that this is a good deal for the Bucks as they can get Lamb as a shooting guard, and Hawes as a power forward. As of the moment, the Bucks have no confirmation on this trade and the Hornets never gave a statement on this as well.
Will the Bucks release Greg Monroe this time? Or will they try to find a more viable deal?
