When LeBron James and Chris Bosh decided to join Dwayne Wade and signed with the Miami Heat in 2010, many people said that the trio will form a formidable roster, making the franchise unstoppable.
They practically did it, taking the Heat franchise to four straight NBA Finals appearances from 2010-2014 and winning a back-to-back championship from 2011-2013. But eventually, King James left the Heat in 2014 to go back to his hometown Cleveland and just recently, Wade also left the team to join his hometown, Chicago.
That only leaves Bosh to guide the team. Unfortunately, bad news came again when Bosh was not cleared by doctors to play this coming NBA season because of the second blood clot that re-emerged in his leg. Doctors are saying Bosh's career is over because of this life-threatening issue. With this unfortunate incident, it seems like the Heat has nothing left on their roster.
According to Sportsrageous, the Heat are now looking for Bosh's replacement and they're eyeing Sacramento Kings forward Rudy Gay. The reports also say that the Heat's strategy now is to surround Hassan Whiteside with great shooters that will complement him and it appears that Rudy Gay is the perfect choice for this.
Rudy Gay openly admitted that he wants to leave the Kings this offseason and ready to move on but the team didn't give in on his demand to be traded. He has to wait until 2017, when he becomes a free agent.
And that's what the Heat is also waiting for, according to Bleacher Report. The Heat don't have a tradable asset to acquire Gay as of now and free agency will likely be the best appropriate time to get him. The report also said that Gay plays the no. 3 spot but can also play as no. 4 when he was still playing for the USA Basketball team.
Is Rudy Gay a perfect replacement for Chris Bosh? Will he fit into coach Erik Spoelstra's system? Will the Heat get him now and not wait until 2017?
