Apple Inc. is still fine-tuning its iPad product line including the most anticipated iPad Air 3. However, there are rumors that Apple will unify its iPad models and will ultimately discard iPad Air. Is it true?
iPad Air 3 was predicted for release in October 2015, according to Mac World. But amid speculations, Apple made no announcement on the third version of iPad Air.
The prediction was based on Apple's habit in launching its iPad Air model. The first iPad Air was announced on Oct. 22, 2013 and was released the following November while iPad Air 2 was released on Oct. 22, 2014.
Analysts predicted that, after two years, Apple will finally announce the latest iPad Air product upgrade. But when Apple made no mention of it during a special media event in September last year, people began to think that the production of iPad Air 3 may finally be halted.
Apple has instead announced three models of iPad Pro series instead of iPad Air 3. According to Mashable, there has been change in the iPad sales, which makes the company change its course.
Apple decided to switch target market for iPad to professional users, hence the name iPad Pro.
As the fifth generation of iPad tablet, iPad Air fully resembled iPad Mini with a thinner design. Since there is no specialty in its product, Apple may decide to discard iPad Air and integrate its iPad product line into one series.
Apple is reportedly preparing three new series of iPad for spring 2017 as reported by Apple Insider.
The three series are the 7.9-inch, 9.7-inch and the large screen 12.9-inch. All models is powered by A10 chipset with quad-speaker audio, True Tone Display that supports DCI-P3 Wide Color, and a 12-megapixel rear camera.
An advanced four-channel ambient light sensors will give an automatic adaptation of the display's color and intensity to match the light in the surrounding environment.
Apple is expected to launch all three product lines of iPad in March 2017.
