Giant capitalists such as Disney, Google, Microsoft and Salesforce refused to buy Twitter and one of the possible reasons is that this company is stuck and is struggling to get earnings. Besides, Twitter is simply no challenger for Facebook in many countries and it could be displaced from the second place by Instagram.
But there are always exceptions to the rules and the point is that in Japan, the number of people who use Twitter is 40 percent higher than those who use Facebook. How come? What makes Twitter in Japan more popular than Facebook while the opposite happens in United States?
Twitter has advantages and disadvantages depending on the country. Japan is one of the favoured places because it uses three alphabets and of them is Kanji where one character contains a lot of information. Thus, 140 characters store tons of data about users, consumers and all related with that. The power of Twitter grows exponentially in the Land of the Rising Sun because of Kanji.
If Softbank buys Twitter, it could access a lot of information from US users.
By the way, Softbank has a tradition for acquiring companies worldwide. Softbank was going to launch a billionaire tech fund with the Saudi Arabian government and coincidentally one Saudi member of the royal family is the second most important shareholder in Twitter.
Masayoshi Son, Softbank CEO, has declared that his company will expand into the social media. The ambitions of the company are very clear, they like to expand.
Twitter's stock increased its value to around $24 but then the stock price fell to about $16.90, making Twitter worth $12 billion. The price of the stock fell because many companies had lost interest in Twitter.
Will Softbank pay that sum of money to acquire this company or will it change its mind?
