Apple's iMac set for October release; to boost Kaby Lake processor, VR Support

The much-awaited Apple iMac is expected to be released any day this month. Claims from credible reports and sources surfaced about the rumored launch including the new Kaby Lake chipset from Intel and other new and original gadgets like the Thunderbolt 3 and VR support.

Because of the release of the current iMac in October last year, online reports claimed that the new iMac 2016 will be released at the end of this month, same as last year. According to reports, the device will be fully launched by Apple in San Francisco on Oct. 27. But there are also reports going around that this wouldn't happen because Apple might choose to launch the iMac at the WWDC 2017 in June 2017.

iMac 2016 Will Be Out This Month

If the October release rumor of iMac proves to be true, the device is reported to be launched with the new 7th Gen Intel Core i7 processor Kaby Lake chipset from Intel. Reports stated that installing the new processor into the device will give it a new look with enhanced graphics and will become a big competition to the Surface AIO of Microsoft.

Apple iMac 2016 Specs

iMac 2016 will have Thunderbolt 3, DisplayPort 1.2, and a USB 3.1 that will all be supported by the Kaby Lake processor. Reports also surfaced regarding the feature of AMD's Zen processor with the Polaris 10 graphic card on the iMac. With these features, the device will be supported by the AMD chipset with great processing power as it has 8 cores and 16 threads. The pairing of this and the Polaris card will empower its GPU performance.

It is expected that the iMac 2016 will be equipped with external flash drives and a VR support. Unfortunately, Apple has been silent and not given any announcements on both the release of the features of the gadget.
