Tony Romo has a phenomenal NFL career. Now on his 13th season with the Dallas Cowboys, he was selected to 4 Pro Bowl games and was named in the Second-team All-Pro in 2014. He was a great player.
But in the Cowboys' third preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks, he was injured quite badly. Two days after the injury, it was announced that Romo might miss 6-10 weeks of the NFL season because of a compression fracture to the L1 vertebrae in his back..
Tony Romo to Denver Broncos?
Because of injury, Romo has been involved with a lot of trade talks. One of those rumors is the possibility of Romo playing for the Denver Broncos.
According to Inquisitr, Broncos showed some interest in acquiring Romo from the Dallas Cowboys. Broncos started the season on an impressive 4-0. But in the last 2 games, they lost to the Falcons and Chargers.
Broncos have Paxton Lynch and Trevor Siemian as quarterbacks. They are young and gifted. But they lack the experience and wisdom that Romo already possess.
Trading one of either Lynch or Siemian for Romo does make sense. Having Romo and either Lynch or Siemian as quarterbacks will benefit the Broncos. One is a veteran and the other one is a rising star. Romo can mentor a rising star and help him understand what it means to be a great player in the league.
Given his experience, Romo might even become the key for Broncos' title run this season. Will the Broncos pursue this trade?
Broncos have a game today (October 24) against the Houston Texans. Will the Broncos come back to their winning ways or will they lose once again? If they lose, the Broncos should be seriously thinking of acquiring Romo.
Jay Cutler to the Pittsburgh Steelers?
The Steelers have been magnificent so far. They have a record of 4-2 and is on pace to win the division. However, Steelers' starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger suffered a major injury and is out for at least one month.
The injury of Big Ben has sparked the rumors that the Steelers is looking for a replacement while their starting quarterback is still unavailable. But could they also be thinking of trading Big Ben?
According to Sportrageous, trading Roethlisberger for Jay Cutler of the Chicago Bears is a good idea for both teams.
Steelers is trying to get more wins because they want to contend for Super Bowl. But without a good quarterback for a few weeks, they might struggle to get more Ws.
Acquiring a veteran quarterback in Cutler might solve this problem for the Steelers. The Chicago Bears will also benefit from this trade. They were struggling this season. And trading Cutler for Big Ben is a wise move from the financial standpoint because they might be able to save some money.
But still, it seems like this deal will not happen. Stay tuned for the latest NFL trade rumors, news and update.
