The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles are two exciting teams in the current NFL season. This is simply because of their quarterbacks: Dak Prescott and Carson Wentz. Both QBs are a rookie but both are playing like a veteran who've been in the league for many years.
But when the two teams face-off this Sunday, Prescott and the Cowboys won over Wentz and the Eagles 29-23 in a thrilling overtime win. But before the two teams met Sunday, reports are saying that the Eagles are trying to make a deal with the Cowboys to acquire Prescott.
According to ChattSportsNet, this NFL trade rumor began when Eagles coach Doug Pederson was quoted saying that he likes Prescott and that the team was actually interested in acquiring him during the NFL draft.
Eagles wide receiver Jordan Matthews also gave praises to Prescott saying he is a "poised quarterback" and a "leader" to his team. Both statements heat up rumors that they are choosing Prescott playmaking more than their own QB.
And through the statistics before their meeting, Prescott has a rating of 103.9 compared to Wentz 92.7. But the report also cleared that it will impossible for the Cowboys to give up Prescott even it is Wentz that they will acquire in return. Though the trade would likely not happen, many believe that both will make a great rivalry in the future.
According to NJ, the rivalry between Prescott and Wentz is just starting and could be a line-up to greatest one if ever. Joe Montana and Troy Aikman started the rivalry between the QB in the early 90's winning 7 Super Bowls between them. Then came the competition of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning in early 2000's with 6 Super Bowl between the two.
However, the report also stated that it's early to line up the two rookies with likes of Montana, Aikman, Manning and Brady as both have not proven yet anything in the league. Both have not been in the playoffs most especially on the Super Bowl. But definitely, they are two QBs to watch for in the future.
Will Dak Prescott and Carson Wentz change uniforms someday? Will the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles revisit this NFL trade rumor in the future?
