It seems like the Washington Wizards is struggling at the start of the 2016-2017 NBA season. And with John Wall being linked to numerous trade rumors for the past few months, many believe that rumors are affecting his game right now.
Earlier reports have linked him to be traded to the Boston Celtics, Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Clippers. He was also previously being rumored last month to be headed to the Los Angeles Lakers for D'Angelo Russell but the buzz just fades away. But now, it seems that deal with the Lakers is gaining steam to trade market after the two consecutive losses to the Wizards.
According to The Inquisitr, the previous talks was revisited again both by the Wizards and Lakers but this time with an additional player to the deal. Trade scenario is suggesting that the Wizards will send Wall to the Lakers in exchange for three players: guards D'Angelo Russell and Jose Calderon and forward Julius Randle.
And as per checking on ESPN NBA Trade machine, the deal pass the NBA trade rules and salary cap restrictions making it legal.
In addition to that, the deal would somehow hurt the Lakers on the power forward spot minus Randle but they have Larry Nance Jr. and Thomas Robinson as a back-up. Though both are not starters, many believe that they can easily adapt to coach Luke Walton system knowing him as a former player too.
The Lakers backcourt could also take a hit on this deal with the absence of Russell and Calderon but having a John Wall in return will somehow rejuvenate their longing for a superstar after the retirement of Lakers franchise player Kobe Bryant last season. They still have Jordan Clarkson and Marcelo Huertas that could step in as point guard and it is hard to pass up a John Wall caliber on every deal.
On the separate report by Sportsrageous, having Russell teaming up with Bradley Beal will somehow ease the loss of Wall to the lineup. But the positive side of this deal to the Wizard is the acquisition of Randle. Randle will boost and add depth to the power forward spot of the team. Having Russell, Beal, Otto Porter, Randle and Marcin Gortat as starters will give them a competitive first five to other teams as per stated in the report.
Will the Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers reach an agreement to make this deal happen? Stay tuned for more NBA trade rumors, news and update.
