'The Fall' Season 3 Finale Recap: BBC series bids goodbye to Jamie Dornan; EP hints Season 4

British crime drama television series, The Fall has aired its Season 3 finale on Saturday, October 29. The events of the finale episode left questions for the fans of the show.

The finale of the BBC drama series was bloody and heartbreaking as fans were left shocked when Jamie Dornan's character, serial killer Paul Spector got killed. The near-ending part of the episode showed Spector viciously attacked Gillian Anderson's character, Stella Gibson, in the chest and face.

Later, he then turned to Tom Anderson as portrayed by Colin Morgan and went to break his arm. But that's not all, Paul Spector later commenced a riot on the facility where he was detained. He even murdered a patient from there. And on the last part of the finale, he decided to take his own life. Yup, just like that.

This was why fans and followers of the series would be thinking if this will be the last installment for the crime drama, according to iTech Post. Unexpected death of Dornan's character surfaced cancellation rumors. What fans really hope and want to know is if a fourth installment of the television series is possible.

According to Digital Spy, Allan Cubitt, "The Fall" creator, writer and director for the second and third series, Allan Cubitt had reportedly stated that he would be interested in extending the series for a fourth season. However, the director noted that Dornan's presence as well as character, Paul Spector, is not assured to come back to the series.

Obviously, he died in the recent season, so fans may not expect him anymore to return on the next season. If ever, it might be a while before fans can see more of the BBC series. This would be because screenwriters would probably think of a new and unique storyline, this time, without Paul Spector.
