Versatile Actor Ron Perlman has captured the hearts of fans for years with his roles in "Beauty and the Beast", "Sons of Anarchy", "Adventure Time" and "Pacific Rim."
But what really made him popular was his role of the much-beloved character superhero "Hellboy." Fans are hungry for more adventures of this comedic and strange superhero.
They have long been begging for a third sequel to finally complete Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy trilogy. Ever since "Hellboy II: The Golden Army" hit theaters in 2008, the director and Perlman assure fans that they are working to get Hellboy 3 up and going. But during the recent New York Comic-Con, Perlman seemed to have, at long last, given up.
No more Hellboy 3 talks
Perlman was at a roundtable for an interview of his latest collaboration with Del Toro, Trollhunters, which will premiere on Netflix this coming December. With that, the press took the opportunity to ask the actor if his recent reunion with his former director would also be an indication that the duo was any closer to making Hellboy 3. But to everyone's dismay, instead of giving updates, Perlman admitted that they don't talk about it anymore.
Busy with other things
When the press further asked why, Perlman simply said, "Because he's busy. I'm busy. Maybe at some point, he'll call and say, 'Hey, let's do it!' But as of now, we're currently contented on discovering new worlds to conquer." But those worlds to conquer don't indicate any team-up between the two When asked whether he and del Toro had any undertaking projects together, Perlman just shook his head, and said, "None that I know of."
Hellboy 3 is dead in the water
Despite his latest statement, the star hasn't completely closed the door to do Hellboy 3. He even gave hints that if they are going to make it, they'd make it. But when the actor who plays Hellboy himself has lost faith, it seems the campaign for Hellboy 3 is truly dead in the water.
