Google's latest operating system by the name of Android Nougat 7.1 is soon going to be available on the Nexus devices. Previously, the new Android Nougat 7.1 OS was solely available for Google Pixel and Pixel XL, but the new technology has been rolled out for Nexus devices as well.
As the month of October kicked off, Google announced that the preview for the up-to-date Android OS will be revealed by the end of October.
"Later this month we'll be bringing you the Android 7.1 platform as an open Developer Preview, similar to what we did for Android 7.0. You'll be able to test and build on the new platform and try the latest features," said Dave Burke, VP for engineering at Google.
The wait is over for Nexus users as the technological giant will soon be rolling out the latest and seventh version of the Android operating system, Android Nougat 7.1. Not only the new models, but Google has remained steadfast on its word as the old Nexus models will also receive the update. Exclusively, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X and Pixel C Tablet will be the first ones to get acquainted with Android Nougat 7.1 software.
Apart from that, users who are already registered for the Android Beta program can also take advantage of the latest Android 7.1. Nougat update.
According to NeuroGadget, Nexus devices, including Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus Player, Android One, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P and Nexus 9 will most likely be receiving the Android Nougat 7.1 update. The major version of Android's operating system will be accessible to all the users by the end of this year, i.e. in December 2016. However, the exact release date is yet to be highlighted.
As far as the other non-Nexus devices and smartphones are concerned, they will also be receiving the Android Nougat 7.1 update but after the Nexus gadgets.
Talking about the particular features and characteristics of Android Nougat 7.1, it has guaranteed to bolster the overall performance and productivity. As per Google, the OS will render new API's, previous bug fixes and optimizations.
Not only that. Android Nougat 7.1 all set to deliver new circular icons for the apps. The update will also bring with it new live wallpapers metadata.
With the availability of support for image keyboard, users will be able to express themselves easily by using animated GIF's and stickers. The image keyboard support will allow the users to multiply the content that is present on their smartphone handset.
Android Nougat 7.1 has promised to deliver better storage facilities to the handset users. There will be a fresh Settings screen that will allow users to delete files that are unused and take unlimited storage.
Google has not yet confirmed the release date for its Android Nougat 7.1. Users have kept their fingers crossed and are highly anticipating the latest technology offered by Google.
