[WATCH] Sony Xperia XZ Torture Test: Sidebars, LED flash, Fingerprint Scanner made of plastic but pass burn test

Sony is known for making solid smartphones, now how well does the Xperia XZ put up against a YouTuber's torture test? Sony flagship Xperia XZ went through the torture test that Zack from JerryRigEverything´s YouTube Channel. In this channel, he usually puts many mobile devices into the most ridiculous endurance tests.

The highlight of the test is that Sony Xperia XZ passed an incredible burn test in which the YouTuber subjected the phone´s display to direct fire for more than 10 seconds.

The test is started with the hardness test. In this he scratched the screen glass of Sony's 2016 flagship with different materials. The materials said to be of different levels subjected to hardness of material.

The XZ's screen glass did not get any scratches until level 6, which is fine. Google Pixel, also got scratches at around level 5 and level 6. Therefore the XZ should be safe against coins, keys and some other common things.

It is also revealed that the XZ's back panel is of metal, but just below it is a thin bar that looks like metal but it's made of plastic. Unluckily, the plastic reign over the XZ does not end there.

The LED flash is also made of plastic that is understandable because most outfits do the same. The most importantly, the side bars are also made of plastic, which is questionable because it is $650 handheld.

While scratching the top and bottom edges of the phone reveals that it's made out of plastic. The power button that is doubles as the fingerprint scanner is also made of plastic.

According to Android Headlines, YouTuber had put the Xperia XZ's 5.2-inch IPS display to fire for more than 10 seconds. The pixels of display turned black after getting subjected to direct flame within few seconds but then they managed to fully recover without any black or white spots on the display.

While, during the same burn test, the Google Pixel's display wasn't able to recover fully and a white spot remained. This is due to the Google opting for an AMOLED display over an IPS one.

Lastly the flexing test left the XZ cracked on its side bars. However, even though it was bent and its side bars were cracked, the phone was still fully functional, reports Tech Times.
