Motorola Moto Maxx users can now experience the new Android 7.0 Nougat update via custom ROM. Smartphone companies are working to bring in Android 7.0 Nougat update for their smartphones. Custom ROM developers are also working parallel to feed-in Android 7.0 Nougat via custom ROM.
CyanogenMod developers announced a custom ROM developed for the Android 7.0 Nougat for the Motorola Maxx smartphone i.e. CM14. CynogenMod14.
According to PC Tablet, it is reported that the custom ROM is based on CM14. CynogenMod14 and is still under-progress.
The reports stated that the user might experience small bugs but not the major ones. Download and installation procedure along with a caution note is mentioned in the report for the users who are trying to install custom ROM based Android 7.0 Nougat update.
Installation of TWRP custom Recovery
1. Download and install the Flashify app from the Google Play Store. **Phone shall be rooted before to use this app.
2. Download the TWRP custom recovery and save it on phone's internal memory.
3. Open the Flashify app and chose the TWRP image file, confirm and flash it.
4. The app will flash the recovery and reboot your phone right into the recovery mode.
5. Now the user can proceed to the custom ROM installation process.
Before proceeding to the above "Custom ROM installation process" step, following precautions shall be read carefully
- User shall backup the device data to PC or cloud,
- User shall charge the phone well enough for the installation process, at least 60%.
- Do not try this installation process or files on any other Android phone or Motorola variant or it may damage the device.
Installation of crDroid Custom ROM
1. Move the downloaded custom crDroid Custom ROM and Google Apps package to the phone's internal memory.
2. Reboot the phone to recovery mode using the key combinations during boot (or use the custom recovery installation guide from above to install and boot to recovery mode)
3. In recovery mode, click Wipe and confirm, it will wipe the data and reset the phone to factory settings.
4. Come back to the main menu and click Install, choose the custom ROM zip package and swipe to install the custom ROM.
5. To install the Google apps package, repeat the previous step with Google apps zip package.
6. After installation is successful, click Reboot System to reboot the phone.
7. After Reboot, Phone might take few seconds for the Welcome screen for the first time and later all steps can be performed following the on-screen simple instructions.
