LG has made an announcement about the availability of Android Nougat update for its G5 smartphone. With this announcement, the South Korean firm now boasts its two devices which are running now on the latest version of the operating system.
Official LG announcement says, "while LG G5 owners in Korea are the first to receive the OS upgrade; they will be followed by customers in the Americas, Asia and other markets in the weeks to come."
Currently, only the South Korean models are receiving the latest Android version. Owners of the device will receive notifications about the update once it is available in their regions.
With this update LG claims to be the first to deliver the Nougat update to a Marshmallow running device. LG V20 was very first handset to run Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, even before Google's Pixel and Pixel XL.
LG G5's update will bring in a series of new features in addition to improved user experience, as well as streamline navigation. New features and improvements will include the In-App search facility, multi-window support of Nougat.
The latest Android version will also allow you to switch between apps just simply by double tapping also there is a new setting menu with more intelligent and efficient notification display.
For Installation user is expected to receive a download notification of Android 7.0 Nougat update or he can check manually for the availability of an update by clicking on Settings then choosing "About phone", and by tapping on "System updates".
If you see a message that Android 7.0 Nougat is available, then user shall select the "Yes, I'm in" option to download the update. Then you shall choose "Install now" and then LG G5 will automatically restart once installation is finished. You also should make a back up of your device before the process starts.
According to GizmoTimes, the LG G5 is the company's first devices to rock a modular get-up. The flagship comes with a Quad HD 5.3-inch Gorilla Glass 4 covered display4 and runs the Android Marshmallow operating system.
It measures at 149.4 x 73.9 x 7.7 mm and weighs at 159 grams and powered by Snapdragon 820 with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. It also features dual rear camera (16 MP + 8 MP), 8 MP front camera, and USB Type-C port.
