Golden State Warriors star player Stephen Curry is playing at a very high level this season as expected. He is averaging 27.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game. He scores very well despite sharing the basketball court with another former MVP in Kevin Durant, who is averaging 27.7 points per game.
Because of Curry and KD's dominance, the Warriors are playing great as expected and living up to the expectations. The so-called NBA superteam this season is first in scoring as they average 116.4 points per game. And at 8-2, they are 2nd in the Western Conference just behind the Los Angeles Clippers.
But despite playing at an MVP-type season once again, there were rumors that Curry might be traded elsewhere. But trading Curry this season is very impossible to happen. It will be much more probable if he signed up for a different team after this season because he will be a free agent.
According to HNGN report, the writer pointed out that Stephen Curry might join the Cleveland Cavaliers if they lose to the Cavs again in the NBA Finals this season. The Stephen Curry-LeBron James tandem will be very deadly. They are clearly the face of the NBA today and clearly two of the best players in the world. And if they unite in one team, they might have an easy road to claim the NBA Championship.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors are the favorites to battle for the NBA Finals once again. But what about if the surprising thing happened and the Warriors knocked out by the San Antonio Spurs?
The Spurs dominate the Warriors on opening night as they humiliated them on their own home floor. Does that mean that the San Antonio Spurs is the kryptonite of the NBA superteam Golden State Warriors. And if they are, will Curry consider joining the San Antonio Spurs during the free agency?
The Spurs are doing just fine with Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge as the leader. But for them to get back to the top of the NBA, what they need is a great point guard.
Tony Parker is still playing very well despite being in the league for 15 years now as he averages 8.0 points, 2.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists this season. But it is clearly evident that his years with the Spurs is numbered. If they get Stephen Curry as their starting point guard next season, the Spurs will be very dominant once again.
Stephen Curry is the MVP for the past two seasons while Kawhi Leonard is the NBA Defensive Player for the past two seasons. Put them together in one team plus a dominant LaMarcus Aldridge in the post would give you one heck of a team.
Aside from that, Curry might benefit from being mentored by Gregg Popovich. His current coach, Steve Kerr, learned a lot from Popovich when Kerr played with the Spurs. And being guided by Popovich himself will make Curry a more complete player.
San Antonio Spurs is also playing like the Warriors, who emphasize ball movement and finding open man on offense. If Curry will play for the Spurs, he might adjust pretty well to the Spurs' way of basketball.
Stephen Curry said that he plans to stay with the Warriors. But according to Hall of Fame Magazine, Curry might sign elsewhere.
Will Curry sign with the San Antonio Spurs next season? Stay tuned for more NBA trade rumors and updates.
