‘Skyrim’ Special Edition gets new update to fix old patch

The Skyrim Special Edition 1.1 update went live yesterday, along with a promise to fix some annoying bugs and at the least partially correcting the audio issues that have left the game sounding really bad compared to its non-special predecessor.

Unfortunately, it has somehow caused even more problems than it would have fixed, which is why another update is now available on Steam.

The 1.2 patch notes

Here are what's featured on the latest update:

[General] stability and improvements on performance

[General] bug fixing and improvements with browsing Mods

[Fixed] issue related to alt-tabbing while playing the game

[Fixed] issue with regards to water flow not rendering properly

[Fixed] crash related to morphing from werewolf back to human form

[Fixed] crash related to reloading after changing Load Order of mods

The patch is still in the beta stage

As of now, the update is still in the beta stage, so if the game is working pretty well for you in its current state, you should just let it go. If you are experiencing some trouble, you can get the new update by right-clicking the Skyrim SE entry in your Steam library, selecting Properties, selecting the Betas tab, and then clicking on "Beta" from the drop-down menu.

After that, click "Okay," and then you wait while your game is being updated. When update has finished, it will now appear as Skyrim Special Edition [Beta] in your Library. Bethesda is taking some constructive feedback regarding the new update, whether it be good or bad, on its forum.

The updated Skyrim will fix every problem brought by the previous update

The updated Skyrim will offer quite a few visible improvements, most especially on the PC version of the game that will truly address every bug that has surfaced since the last patch update.

As a recall, since its release, players have been complaining about some major technical issues, as well as some annoying bugs that will hinder gameplay. On top of that, the sound quality is really bad, to say the least.

This is why Bethesda released yet another patch to fix every problem on the previous one.
